Your favorite Robert Wood?: sea and sand
Comments:
I have a reproduction of sea and sand signed Robert Wood '37. It is in a wood frame with a metal plate on the bottom of the frame with the title of the print and the artists name. On the back it says Greenwoods of California, San Bernardino, Calf. How many of these were printed? Are they worth anything?

Your favorite Robert Wood?: October Gold
Comments:
I have a original painting by Robert Wood, it belonged to my grandfather. I know it is the October Gold, however I might be mistaken. I know the first word is October, I am currently at work and not staring right at it, however the picture on your sight looks different. I am interested in obtaining information on my painting. I am un-educated in the "Arts", so I would really appreciate some info on how or who do go to, to have this painting appraised. Thank you and this site if very nicely done, Good ob. Heather Cruz

Your favorite Robert Wood?: Untitled- Gallery #5
Comments:
Hi, My parents have a Robert Wood painting in there home. In the back it is entitled, "Golden Shores". It looks exactly like the painting that is photographed in your gallery #5 that is entitled. As a matter of fact, my parents painting has the exact same rame as the one photographed. The painting is signed by Robert Wood and on the frame there is a plaque with Robert Wood's name engraved on it (this and the fact that my parents painting is not matted) is the only difference between the two paintings. On the back of their painting there is a write up on the artist and various other items are on there as well, such as: Title "Golden Shores", Inspected 222, Stamped P195/2?? (?? means this part is not legible to us), V283C-288 and Illinois Molding Co., Chic go. This is not necessarily in the order that it is printed in the back because this was information given to me by my dad over the phone, which is deperately looking for further information regarding this painting. They received it from a friend of the rs well over 30 years ago! Any information you can provided would be appreciated. Could the painting that is untitled in your website (Gallery#5) be the same as my parents - sure looks that same!! Linda Vienneau

Our Robert Wood has no title on it. It's a 50 x 25 scene of a cottage and stone bridge. Does that mean it is "English Countryside" or did Wood paint numerous similar scenes. Thanks for any info!

Enjoyed the trip thru the Gallery. Many years ago I came across some Robert Wood limited numbered prints at an auction. There are six signed prints in a large signed folder. They are about 20"X24" and are number 93/1000. This set is mint, still with divid r sheets in place. They look like some of his early work, don't seem to have the detail that show in some of his other works. Could you help me find out more about this set? Any idea about when they were done? Thanks.

I have discovered a Robert Wood painting in my parent's attic. It is a country/farm scene set at the foot of a mountain; appears to be in the spring, with a house in the right hand side with a pink blossom tree and a set of barns at the foot of the mountain/hill. There is a dirt road beginning in the left hand corner with a fence to the left of the road with trees. It is signed in the right hand courner in printed letters. No numbers. I feel this is a reproduction but how would I know?

Charla, Thanks for a wonderful site. When I ws a kid (1966), I sold greeting cards. One set of stationary always stuck with me - a set of plain folding cards each showing an image of Robert Wood's Four Seasons. About 2 years ago, my then 79 year old mother gave me one of them as a birthday card! I have several copies of his work. I'm picking up my newly matted, framed copy of October Gold soon. Bought the print on Ebay - printed onto a relatively heavy paper made to look like canvas. I understand Robert Wood's prints are also transferred to canvas (someday I'll have an original). Do you know where I can find these? Thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks again for a wonderful site. Sinerely, Jim Brown

Not sure if it is a reprint. It is signed Robert Wood 1959 and is called Autu n Leaves. There is a partial sticker on the back of the frame that has a Chicago Address on it. I believe my mother also has a painting that might also be done by Robert Wood, will find out later today. I do know that it is a picture of the sea with the urf and rocks, I think it is also night time. Is there any books that I could find in the library about Mr Wood? Thank you for taking the time to do your webpage!! God bless and keep you in His care.

Lake Elsinore/Mount San Jacinto is an original oil never reproduced. It was painted in 1946 from a spot on the Ortega Mountains overlooking Lake Elsinore with Mt. San Jacinto in the background. Robert painted it for a friend who lived in Laguna Beach. I have since inherited it. Your gallery is superb! Thanks for sharing it online.
